How far is the holiday farm from the nearest town?
The nearest town is Barberino Val d’Elsa, a quaint medieval village where there is a newsagent, a chemist’s, a bakery, a small supermarket, an aesthetician, a post office, a bar, a pizzeria and a restaurant.

How far is the holiday farm from the nearest supermarket?
The closest supermarkets are Pam in Poggibonsi 5 km and COOP in Tavarnelle V.P 7.5 km

What’s the nearest airport?
The Florence airport is 59 km away, about 50 minutes by car;
The Pisa airport is 119 km away, about 1 hour and 30 minutes by car

Is it possible to arrive after half past seven pm?
It is possible to check-in at a later time if you give us early notice

Is there a laundry at the holiday farm?
Yes, we have a laudry service .The items will be washed in washing machine

Where is the nearest golf course?
The nearest golf courses are the Ugolino Golf Club and the Castelfalfi

What is the flat equipped with at our arrival?
The flat has a fully equipped kitchen, a hairdryer in the bathroom, a safe in the bedroom, soap, shampoo,body wash, swimming pool towels.

Can we have our meals at the holiday farm?
Dinners is erved evry night except on Sunday.
Sunday dinner is not available

What does breakfast consist of?
Breakfast includes: scrumbled eggs, home made cakes, Tuscan ham, Tuscan cheeses , yogurt, fresh fruits, cereals, croissants, fresh bread, butter, various marmalades, honey, coffee, milk, cappuccino, chocolate, tea, fruits juice.

Which is the nearest train station?
Poggibonsi at 5 km, about 10 minutes away by car

What’s the nearest hospital?
Poggibonsi at 6 km, about 15 minutes away by car

How far is the sea?
It is easy to get to the sea towards north or south;
Towards north, Viareggio is at 139 km, about 1 hour and 40 minutes away by car;
Towards south, San Vincenzo is at 176 km, about 2 hours away by car

Are dogs allowed?
No

Is there satellite TV?
Yes, there is satellite TV with channels in Italian, English and German. We receive the most important English and American channels.

Is there internet connectivity?
Yes, each flat has a Wi-Fi connection

How often is cleaning done?
The room and bathroom are cleaned daily (kitchen cleaning not included).

How many times during the stay are the towels and sheets changed?
The towels and sheets are changed every 3 days

Can one get to the “Al Gelso Bianco” by public means of transport?
NO, it is not possible. We warmly suggest to rent a car or book a prvate driver.

Can one buy the Farm products?
Yes, at the holiday farm there is a Shop where you will be able to buy our Chianti wine, IGT wine, Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Grappa, Vin Santo, Tuscan cuisine cookery books and other souvenirs.

What does one do all day at the “Al Gelso Bianco”?
Don’t make the mistake of thinking that a holiday in the countryside is boring!
It’s not at all! The “Al Gelso Bianco” is only 35 minutes from Florence, 45 minutes from Siena and 15 minutes from San Gimignano. Other beautiful places like Volterra, Certaldo, Monteriggioni, Montepulciano, Montalbino, Pienza, etc. are easy to get to by car, bus or train.
Our more sporty guests can rent a mountain bike and ride along the Tuscan countryside. Less sporty guests can rent a 50s Vespa! We will advise our more gourmand guests on where to discover producers of cheeses, cured meats and historic wine cellars.
At the holiday farm, guests can have a relaxing time at the swimming pool, practise open air sports or go to the gym, or they can take advantage of our barbecue with a view of San Gimignano, or they can spend part of their days at our cooking courses or at the tastings of the products of our Farm.
They can dine in the evening in one of the many restaurants that we will be able to advise. To be honest, only one holiday isn’t enough for sure!

What has the “Al Gelso Bianco” have to offer younger children?
The Al Gelso Bianco is considered a family-friendly place! Children can play in the area of the swimming pool reserved for them, have fun in the big garden, organise table football tournaments, go cycling. We can also give you advice on itineraries that are interesting and fun both for older kids and for younger children!
